When can I become a customer?

Every week, the Food Bank provides food packages free of charge to customers who cannot make ends meet financially for a short or longer period. You are eligible for a food package if the income remaining after deduction of fixed costs is less than the ‘standard amount’.

The standard amount per month consists of:

1) a basic amount of € 130,-

plus

2) an amount of € 85,- per person

The table below shows the standard amounts pre-calculated:

Admission standard (in euros per month) per 1.1.2018:

1 person

€ 215 (130+85)

2 adults

€ 300 (130+2*85)

1 adult + 1 child

€ 300 (130+2*85)

1 adult + 2 children

€ 385 (130+3*85)

2 adults + 2 children

€ 470 (130+ 4*85)

1 adult + 3 children

€ 470 (130 + 4*85)

etc.

* In addition to married couples, 2 adults who live together in a less traditional way (share the same front door) also qualify if they meet the assessment criteria.

The standard amount is the amount that a household has left to live on after deduction of fixed costs, with a maximum for fixed costs, such as for telephony, internet, TV and energy costs.

This document contains the criteria and amounts that apply to new applications per 1 January 2018 and to renewal of the current applications.
